Job Description
The Position:
Summit Search Grouphas been retained byStrauss Event & Association Managementon the recruitment of an experienced Event Manager. With nearly 30 years of industry experience and a strong presence in healthcare and business association management this firm is known for delivering exceptional conferences trade shows and signature events across the country.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dynamic Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of high-impact events across Canada. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a client-facing position and brings a blend of strategic thinking creativity and operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing the full event lifecyclefrom conceptualization and budgeting to logistics and onsite executionwhile maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable managing a bustling trade show floor overseeing the production of a formal gala or coordinating the seamless delivery of a national virtual conference.
As a key member of the team you will work directly with clients vendors and internal stakeholders to bring event visions to life while ensuring each event aligns with the organizations standards and client expectations. Your ability to adapt communicate and execute will play a vital role in delivering successful experiences that leave lasting impressions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for clients identifying event goals and translating them into comprehensive plans
- Estimate costs and manage event budgets effectively
- Plan and execute a range of events including virtual hybrid and in-person formats
- Coordinate logistics including accommodations catering A/V meeting room setup and program materials
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations legal requirements and insurance policies
- Oversee timelines staffing and volunteer coordination
- Provide stakeholders with clear detailed reporting
- Drive success across all phases of event design planning and production
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in event management with a focus on conferences trade shows and gala events.
- Post-Secondary education in Marketing Hospitality or a related discipline.
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Highly organized and self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
