Position Summary:
The Production Coating Supervisor will supervise a day swing graveyard or relief shift to ensure the smooth operation of the TruWood coating or production departments during the operating shift.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead a safe working environment:
- train employees in safe equipment operation;
- motivate employees to lead the operation to superior safety performance;
- engage in continuing education and improvement to processes and work procedures; and
- lead safety behavior by example.
- Supervise the TruWood coating and production departments to ensure completion according to production schedule while prioritizing product quality and cost management.
- Provide front-line management of the crew including all hourly employees and the shifts maintenance team.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and company rules.
- Maintain the working relationship with the bargaining unit by following the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Communicate shift activities with other shift supervisors maintenance personnel the Superintendent and the Operations Manager.
- Support operations in key variable tracking and data analysis complete shift reports and process employee time and attendance reports.
- Perform other duties or related projects as assigned.
- On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work activities of a shift with up to 25 employees.
- Responsible for performance management of direct reports in accordance with company values objectives and policies.
- Provide mentoring coaching training and support consistent with developing and sustaining a high-performing and accountable team.

Education and Experience:
- Prior supervisory experience or relevant prior work experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience.
Environmental Conditions:
May be exposed to dust noise trip hazards and variable weather and temperatures.
Required Personal Protective Equipment:
Individuals must be willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Positions may require additional PPE at specific times. Examples of PPE which may be required include high visibility garments hand protection eye protection hearing protection a hard hat foot protection a face shield and a respirator.
