Qualifications
We are seeking a highly competent individual with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills to work effectively with government partners and WWF country offices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic big-picture thinking for scoping and designing impactful projects as well as meticulous attention to detail to ensure smooth project development implementation and oversight.
- A Bachelors degree with a minimum of eight to ten years of progressively responsible work experience is required. An advanced degree with a minimum of six plus years of experience in fields such as international affairs international development environmental policy or environmental science preferred.
- Strong project development and project management/supervision experience are required
- Experience engaging with governments and institutions in developing and middle-income countries is required.
- Experience working with GEF projects and knowledge of GEF policies and project cycle management is preferred.
- Experience in developing large bilateral and/or multilateral funded projects and/or blended finance projects (public and private funds) is a plus.
- Must have excellent communications skills both written and verbal including public speaking and publications.
- Strong problem solving and relationship skills to support a complex portfolio of large projects
- Fluency in English and French preferred.
- Technical expertise and experience in key WWF themes is preferred: area-based conservation wildlife oceans forests and/or cross-cutting solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple initiatives with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with teams across cultures and multiple time zones.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work beyond normal business hours.
- Experience working with WWF and the WWF Network is a plus.
