Position Overview

A critical role responsible for conducting comprehensive food safety and quality audits ensuring compliance with international food standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities


Audit Execution
Perform detailed food safety and quality system audits
Conduct on-site inspections of food production facilities
Assess compliance with international food standards (GFSI ISO 22000 HACCP)
Evaluate food safety management systems and processes
Prepare detailed accurate and objective audit reports

Technical Assessment
Verify implementation of food safety protocols
Identify potential risks and non-conformities
Recommend corrective actions and improvement strategies
Assess documentation and record-keeping practices
Evaluate supplier and vendor food safety compliance

Certification Process
Support client certification journey
Provide expert guidance on food safety standards
Assist in developing corrective action plans
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations

Qualifications
Required Skills
Bachelors degree in Food Science Microbiology Nutrition or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in food safety auditing
Lead Auditor certification (IRCA/FSSC 22000)
Comprehensive understanding of food safety standards

Technical Competencies
Detailed knowledge of:
GFSI benchmarked standards
ISO 22000
HACCP principles
Global food safety regulations
Strong analytical and documentation skills
Proficient in audit reporting software

Professional Certifications
Lead Auditor certification
FSSC 22000 Auditor
ISO 22000 Certification
Additional food safety certifications preferred

Reporting Structure
Reports to Head of Food Certification Audits

Working Conditions
Frequent travel required (50-70%)
Field work in various food production environments
Occasional challenging work conditions
