The Technology Services unit of the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) is responsible for customer-centred technology services and programs that meet emerging and changing community needs and challenges including digital and virtual library service initiatives including service strategies for targeted areas such as web or mobile device users; development and maintenance of the Librarys website; development and maintenance of the integrated library system; and development and maintenance of staff and public desktops.
You: provide primary support and troubleshooting for the infrastructure and various related tools for the Ottawa Public Librarys (OPL) online services and for the administration of the OPL web site; design applications and/or web layouts; provide technical coordination and integration of online systems and services integrating new technologies as required; and liaises with and maintain a working relationship with external resources.
Completion of 3 year community college or university degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in web application development and integration including the use of an open source content management system preferably Drupal and web development scripting language preferably PHP development
