As a proud First Nations Specialist provider under the Workforce Australia contract we are committed to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through culturally safe strengths- based employment services. Our team supports jobseekers to build confidence develop skills and connect with meaningful employment and training opportunities

The role

We are seeking full- time passionate and culturally aware mentors to join our team in the locations of Cairns Earlville and Edmonton.

As a job mentor you will walk alongside our First Nations jobseekers offering tailored mentoring guidance and advocacy throughout their employment journey.

Key Responsibilities

As a Job Mentor at Bamara you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting individuals in their professional development. Working within an innovative and dynamic environment you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the career growth of our employees.

  • Build strong respectful relationshipswith First Nations job seekers
  • Provide individualised mentoring and coaching to supportwork readiness
  • Assist clients in identifying career goals and developing job plans
  • Connect job seekers with suitable training employment and community support services
  • Liaise with employers to support sustainable employment outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with Workforce Australia contractual obligations



Skills And Experiences

About you

  • Proven experience in mentoring or coaching individuals in a professional setting
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander/ or have experience working in a culturally competentmanner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to support First Nations Jobseekers
  • Abilityto work collaborativelyin a team and independentlyto manage a caseload
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Empathy and patience when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge oflocal industry-specific job requirements and career pathways is an advantage
  • Experience in creating personalisedjob plans for individuals
  • Experience in either employment services youth work community services or mentoring highly regarded
  • Proficiency in using relevant mentoring tools and software
  • Must have WWCC and be able to satisfactorilypass a police check
