Role

The Senior Analyst role is a central part of the Regulatory Reporting team at Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) a global investment manager overseeing over $1.4 trillion in AUM. Regulatory Reporting Senior Analysts work closely with Compliance Risk Front Office Support Business Implementation Project Management and Client Management teams to develop and deliver complete timely and accurate reports to relevant National Competent Authorities.

Regulatory Reporting Senior Analysts apply technical expertise to a range of reporting regime deliverables and provide updates and input to internal and external management forums. They act as a specialized source of regulatory knowledge.

The role is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in the office located at 50 Bank Street Canary Wharf.

Key responsibilities

  • Daily validation and submission of regulatory reporting to national competent authorities
  • Exception management
  • Maintenance of adequate operational procedures applicable to the role
  • Review of controls and reconciliations to identify areas of improvement and ensure continued relevance
  • Identification of processes in need of improvement
  • Timely escalation of regulatory breaches to mitigate regulatory impact
  • Keep up to date on regulatory developments relevant to the role
  • Develop effective relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Vendor service delivery monitoring
  • Contribution to business initiatives including ad-hoc project involvement
  • Issue investigation and identification of root causes of errors
  • Interaction with teams in systems and operations to recommend formulate and test solutions to improve process efficiency and productivity
  • Contribution to business requirements definition implementation planning and feasibility.

Knowledge/ Skills

  • Experienced in excel and handling formulae
  • Regulatory reporting obligations EMIR SFTR FinfraG MiFID MMFR highly desirable
  • Exposure to handling Xceptor data automation software desirable.

Experience Required

  • Several years related work experience in financial industry in regulatory operations
  • Process implementation experience desirable
  • Business analysis experience.

  • Understanding of regulatory reporting concepts and implications

  • Ability to articulate and document issues and enhancements required
