About this role

Business Unit Overview
The Swiss Wealth sales team develops and maintains relationships and drives flows with fund investors in sales coverage team manages the relationships and drives flows with a diverse set of Wealth Managers and Asset Managers in the region. The Sales team for Germanspeaking Switzerland and Liechtenstein is based out of Zurich while the Frenchspeaking region is covered out of Geneva.

Key responsibilities

This position is based in Zurich Switzerland focusing on delivering the full range of BlackRock product and capabilities (Index/ETF active funds Alternatives) as well as solutions (Technology) and Services (Model portfolios Portfolio construction) to Discretionary Wealth and Asset Management clients across the Germanspeaking Switzerland and Liechtenstein region. The candidate will be working closely with global internal partner groups with the aim to deliver the best of BlackRock to our addition the role includes business development and strategy as the candidate will be supporting developing a clear client segment strategy to identify and drive new business opportunities.

  • Set a client centric strategy for the Discretionary and Asset Management segment to deepen senior client relationships and contribute to the growth of BlackRocks franchise.
  • Build out and monitor BlackRocks Swiss book of business in line with firms best practices taking ownership of performance.
  • Ongoing coverage and buildout of relationships with Swiss Wealth and Asset Managers with a particular focus on senior portfolio managers/heads and CIO office contacts
  • Work closely with BlackRocks investment teams to execute on product priorities and expand specialism within EMEA Wealth.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and portfolio solutions to support new and existing client relationships and crossfunctional projects.
  • Execute product campaigns via product education sessions digitally as well as on the ground.
  • Participation in and organization of client events presentations educational sessions as speaker and further development of such formats.
  • Increase accessibility and utilization of firm thought leadership capabilities by Swiss clients.
  • Responsibility to ensure that all regulatory & legal requirements and standards are met personally and within the team
  • Take on people management responsibility and develop more junior talent on the team as line manager

Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a financial services sales role in the relevant segments
  • Thorough knowledge of the local Wealth and Asset Management industry particularly Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) and Asset Management clients as well as market dynamics
  • Deep understanding of the sales process prospecting objection handling closing and longterm relationship management.
  • General understanding of product set ETFs active funds liquid alternatives and private markets

Skills/Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in Business Administration Economics Finance or an equal professional experience
  • CFA certification is a plus
  • Research and data management skills
  • Fluent in (Swiss)German and English
