Job Summary:
This role involves providing direct patient care as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) collecting patient data assisting with procedures maintaining equipment and performing clerical duties. The CNA will collaborate with the patient care team to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care.
Location: Fairfax Virginia United States
Responsibilities:
- Assisting patients with ADLs (bathing dressing toileting ambulation feeding).
- Obtaining and recording vital signs weights and I&O.
- Collecting specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Performing procedures (incentive spirometry pulse oximetry blood sugar checks).
- Assisting with patient transport and preparation for diagnostic tests.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment.
- Performing basic clerical duties (answering phones data entry documentation).
- Assisting the nursing staff in emergency situations.
- Providing post-mortem care.
- Preparing rooms for admissions and discharges.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- One year of acute care/pediatric experience.
Special Considerations:
- Monday-Friday work schedule.
- Shift times vary between 8:00-4:30 8:30-5:00 and 9:00-5:30.
- May assist in holding patients during procedures but this is infrequent.
- Primarily involves standard triage and rooming patients.
Scheduling:
- Monday through Friday.
- Shift times are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Specific shift assignment will be determined.
