Job Description

Director Market Access & Reimbursement (m/f/d) Switzerland

Position Summary

Reporting to the General Manager Switzerland the Director Market Access & Reimbursement will be responsible to lead the Market Access Strategy (including pricing and reimbursement) for the Gilead product portfolio in Switzerland.

This leader must be able to work effectively across Gileads commercial and R&D organizations with a focus on the companys late stage pipeline and commercial portfolio. He/she will ensure that access strategy across the portfolio supports product pricing and reimbursement objectives and will work in close collaboration with the cross functional teams to ensure alignment on strategy and implementation. This individual will have demonstrated people leadership including cross functional leadership has a proven and successful record of Market Access experience in the local Swiss Healthcare Market is connected to the key stakeholders (FOPH EAK Interpharma and Payers) and is experienced in leading difficult negotiations while knowing the pricing and reimbursement environment in Switzerland.

Job responsibilities

  • The Market Access & Reimbursement Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the local Market Access Strategy (including pricing and reimbursement) for the Gilead product portfolio.
  • Leads and manages the development of local reimbursement dossiers for the FOPH consistent with the global pricing strategy.
  • Leads the negotiation process until reimbursement.
  • Strategically utilizes medical and epidemiological information to prepare supportive documents to support negotiations with the various stakeholders in the reimbursement and pricing process.
  • Develops valuable relationships with key pricing and reimbursement decision makers.
  • Monitors and anticipates developments and trends in the external environment and makes proposals to the Swiss leadership team to prepare the organization accordingly.
  • Manages and provides leadership to the Swiss Market Access team and support the local LT and the commercial and finance teams during the strategic financial planning and review process.
  • Leads the cross functional team in developing and implementing pricing strategy
  • Develops and builds productive relationships with payers and local Swiss Health Care Stakeholders
  • Builds productive relationships with colleagues in other Gilead functions and affiliates

Knowledge Experience and Skills

  • Bachelors degree or higher required. PhD and/or MBA isan asset.
  • Experiencein successfully leading P&R negotiations in Switzerland
  • Bilingual (German and English) written and verbal skills an asset.
  • Successful experience developing productive external relationships across the Swiss Health Care sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the Swiss Pharmapolitical Environment
  • Extensive healthcare experience including a solid background in market access field within the specialty Pharma/Biotech sector in Switzerland
  • History in developing and writing FOPH P&R dossiers of highly innovative medicines.
  • History of commercial or other cross-functional experience in the Pharma/Biotech sector an asset.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience managing a high performing cross functional teams
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to formulate develop and execute complex strategy
  • Strong portfolio management skills and ability to objectively frame analyze and resolve trade-offs between projects.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/ priorities
  • Excellent verbal written and interpersonal skills in order to lead interact with focus resolve conflict and facilitate consensus among individuals from a variety of disciplines.
