Tasks
Your Mission
As a DevOps Lead at Xelon you play a key role in enabling our engineering and operations teams to deliver scalable reliable and secure cloud infrastructure. You build and improve CI/CD pipelines infrastructure as code observability tooling and deployment this role youll be both a hands-on technical contributor and a cross-functional enablerdriving developer productivity platform automation and production readiness.
Youll collaborate closely with Engineering ProductOps DevSecOps and ITOps to establish best practices reduce complexity and empower teams to move fast with confidence.
Your Responsibilities
CI/CD Deployment & Automation
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps processes
- Define rollback strategies and deploy readiness standards
- Ensure reliable test and production environments aligned with sprint cycles
Infrastructure as Code & Environment Management
- Design and operate infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform
- Build consistent dev staging and prod environments
- Manage access structures naming conventions and secrets
Monitoring Logging & Incident Management
- Operate central monitoring logging and alerting systems (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK)
- Enable access to logs and metrics for engineers
- Collaborate with ITOps on incident response and postmortems
Security Compliance & DevSecOps Integration
- Integrate automated security checks (SAST/DAST/SCA) into pipelines
- Enforce secrets management access policies and audit trails
- Collaborate on security reviews and penetration testing
Developer Enablement & Documentation
- Provide self-service tools for devs (e.g. log access sandbox environments)
- Document environments processes and deployment patterns
- Facilitate internal enablement through training and pairing sessions
Requirements
Your Profile
- 4 years experience in DevOps SRE or platform engineering
- Solid hands-on skills in CI/CD containerization (Docker/K8s) IaC (Terraform Ansible)
- Familiar with cloud platforms (OpenStack AWS Azure) and observability tools
- Strong sense of ownership problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration
- Fluent in German or English (both a strong plus)
Bonus Points
- Leadership experience in a DevOps or engineering team
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO SOC2 etc.)
- Background in systems engineering or cloud architecture
- Familiarity with GitOps and developer self-service platforms
