Job Description

Position Summary:

The (Sr.) Director of Value Access and Policy Europe is a key partner on Acadias Global Value & Access Team and on the European Value Access and Policy team and has accountability to achieve and maintain appropriate pricing and market access through propositions that deliver value to patients healthcare systems society and the company. Together with the Head of European Value Access and Policy team this role will define Acadias approach to Market Access in Europe and help build an organization that can execute it cross-functionally. The (Sr.) Director of Value Access and Policy Europe will also shape the product access strategies and ensure that local needs (e.g. additional evidence) are flagged and communicated.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus will be to support the mid-size and small European countries.
  • Ensure that Pricing and Access launch strategies in the focus countries are of high quality and are fit-for- purpose
  • Based on insights develop pricing & access strategies incorporating additional evidence needs value proposition beyond the drug managed entry schemes and other agreements to ensure mutual value and pricing strategy.
  • Ensure high quality and timely delivery of the P&R dossiers.
  • In collaboration with local and European teams identify evidence requirements for successful access in Europe and support the creation of program-specific Evidence Plans.
  • Ensure coordinated negotiation strategy with clearly defined approach.
  • Develop appropriate broad stakeholder relationships to support access engagement and education including appropriate consultation of patients regarding their needs and the impact of the disease in their local context.
  • Establish and maintain personal relationships with select payers advisors key opinion leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage annual strategic plans and budgets for the function with accurate forecasting and prudent decision making.
  • Monitor trends and anticipate key developments in Europe with respect to Health Technology Assessment and Government/Payer reimbursement initiatives.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree required MBA or PhD in science and/or economics preferred. Minimum of 10 years progressively increasing responsibilities in Market Access within a pharmaceutical/biotech organization with significant scientific exposure within rare disease ideally in the CNS realm and in the context of early patient access programs. A combination of relevant education and applicable experience may be considered.

Key Skills:

  • Recent experience in early patient access programs and launch of orphan drugs ideally with direct or adjacent experience within the CNS space.
  • Hands-on experience in pricing negotiations in one or more European markets
  • Experience and proven success in cross-functional teamwork
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) mandatory additional European languages are considered an advantage
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with commercial medical clinical and regulatory colleagues to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Strong digital literacy and Microsoft proficiency (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong formal presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel both within Europe and internationally.
