In Roches Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED) we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the worlds toughest unmet healthcare needs. This position is located in ADME a chapter within Global Pharmaceutical Sciences where the fate of new chemical entities and biologics is a primary focus. The ADME Chapter works throughout all stages of compound development from lead optimization to candidate selection all clinical development phases to filing of new drug applications. We closely collaborate with our therapeutic areas and functions to convert hypotheses into innovative therapeutics.
The position is responsible for ensuring the timely provision of high-quality in vitro ADME data to assess the disposition of new drug research and development candidates. Responsibilities include upholding data integrity in accordance with FAIR data principles streamlining processes through automation and performing related liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analytics to advance ADME science at a pace that fills any business gaps.
You will perform quantitative bioanalytical activities for both routine and specialized assays within the scope of in vitro ADME scientific domains. Develop and adapt LC-MS/MS methods perform analysis document the work and report the results.
You will contribute to the maintenance of the lab infrastructure materials and analytical instruments.
Working at the interface between ADME assays and IT systems you will implement the end-to-end workflow of key assays in alignment with the lab automation experts.
You will work for providing end-users with guidance and support with the measurement of in vitro assay samples.
In addition you could apply a diverse set of in vitro methodologies and document experimental set-ups protocols and results.
You hold a bachelor master or equivalent degree in biochemistry analytical chemistry or related relevant discipline with experience in quantification of small molecules by LC-MS/MS.
Ideally possessing practical experience (preferably industrial) in at least one of the areas of physicochemistry active drug transport biotransformation or enzymology/DDI.
Possessing expertise in the sample preparation of bioanalysis of large molecules (e.g. proteins oligonucleotides and ADCs) and/or emerging modalities will be considered a valuable asset. You are familiar with lab automation and common digital tools for experimental planning data capturing evaluation and reporting in databases and reports.
You are curious about how lab processes are running and are interested in improving existing workflows. Ideally you have experience in designing and automating workflows.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision solving problems innovatively.
Strong communication skills and teamwork focused on driving the portfolio forward using the best approaches available with proactive and strategic thinking to promote projects.
The position will be located in Basel. The position can be opened immediately and is limited to 2 years.
