CompetitiveAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager to join Stagecoach South West at our Torquay depot the first in the region to operate a 100% electric fleet.
Over the next 6 months Torquay will become home to 55 brand-new EV buses delivering sustainable transport across the Torbay network. As Engineering Manager youll play a pivotal role in leading this historic transition ensuring our engineering operation sets the standard for safety reliability presentation and environmental performance.
What youll be doing:
- Lead a skilled engineering team delivering effective support across a busy modern depot.
- Drive high standards of fleet safety reliability and presentation ensuring compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
- Oversee our proactive and preventative maintenance programme.
- Champion health & safety embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior engineering and local management teams to deliver operational excellence within budget.

- A proven track record of high-quality fleet maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills able to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety environmental and employment legislation.
- A commercially aware customer-focused mindset.
- Outstanding communication and analytical ability.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
