Component Repairs Trainee

Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- This role provides hands-on training and development in our machine shop weld shop and mechanic shop
- Successfully complete weld testing in accordance with company standards.
- The employee will gain experience in various aspects of metal fabrication machining and mechanical assembly contributing to the repair and maintenance of industrial rotating equipment.
- Actively participate in cross-training across the machine shop weld shop and mechanic shop to develop a well-rounded skill set.
- Assist in fabrication welding machining and mechanical assembly tasks as assigned.
To succeed in this role you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Interest in learning a trade or developing skills in machining welding or as a mechanic.
- Willingness to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Must be willing to work overtime and swing shifts as needed.
- Basic understanding of welding machining or mechanical work is a plus but not required.

Shift: Working hours will be determined by workload and shift coverage needs.
Candidate must be prepared to work swing shift.
- Monday Friday: 5 am to 4:30 pm (day shift) and 3:30 pm 4:00 am (night shift).
- Weekends as necessary.
Probationary Period Overview:
- Duration: 4 months (18 weeks)
- Work schedule (Department we start might change depending on workload.)
- Weld shop 6 weeks on day shift.
- Machine shop 6 weeks on night shift.
- Mechanic shop 6 weeks on day shift.
Goals and expectations:
- Pass weld test by the end of probationary period.
- Pass Dimensional Measuring Aptitude Test (R&R) by the end of probationary period.
- Must read the Component Repair course workbook.
- Sections 1 6 during first half of probationary period
- Section 7 11 during second half of probationary period
- Review with mentor after each completed section
