Work as an integral part of the Network Engineering team to design implement and support networks and infrastructure services in both classified Department of Defense (DoD) and non-classified environments. This role requires providing strategic technical expertise and leadership by anticipating and recommending emerging technologies testing designs for corporate integration and leveraging cloud-based technologies.
The ideal candidate will have expert-level knowledge in networking a broad range of technical skills and the ability to develop comprehensive solutions and process improvements. The position requires working independently as well as collaborating with other subject matter experts to develop solutions and resolve issues.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in data voice LAN/WAN and AV environments.
Lead small-to-medium projects and technology implementations including network engineering and tactical solution design.
Provide support for technical staff by diagnosing and troubleshooting networking hardware and software issues; act as an escalation resource for problem resolution.
Verify the integrity of data voice and LAN/WAN networks; identify problems determine solutions and ensure implementation.
Collaborate with other IT groups on evaluating customizing and implementing hardware and software systems.
Recommend new or enhanced network hardware software and designs to maximize functionality security and cost-effectiveness.
Analyze capacity requirements and initiate changes to data voice and LAN/WAN/WLAN networks and systems.
Provide training mentoring and expertise to staff and departments on network technologies and applications.
Stay current with emerging technologies through research networking and professional development opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: BS degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
Required: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Preferred: Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Architect (CCA)
Desired: Security or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
5 years of experience in planning designing implementing administering and troubleshooting LAN/WAN/WLAN environments
Experience leading technical projects and solving problems in a matrixed team environment
Familiarity with future operations technologies is a plus including:
Microsoft M365 AWS/Azure Cloud
DoD Classified Environments
SD-WAN IaaS/PaaS datacenter-to-cloud transition
Cisco DNA Cisco Wireless Cisco Nexus Cisco Routers Cisco ISE
BGP and OSPF
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to U.S. government classified information
Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Fitness required
