Assists in laying out work and constructing forms for structures such as curbs gutters culverts slabs steps foundations and walls driveways and wheelchair ramps.
Pours and smoothes concrete to desired grade and contour; performs some finishing.
Participates in the work of excavating to grade and preparing soil for the pouring of concrete.
Operates a pneumatic pavement breaker.
Mixes concrete.
Keeps materials and equipment in serviceable condition.
Drives automotive equipment to and from work sites.
REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience in cement and concrete work.
DRIVER LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
A valid California Class C Driver License is requiredto perform job-related functions.
For positions that require driving successful applicants must acquire and present a copy of their driving record from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles before final appointment. Applicants should not submit their driving history until asked to do so by the hiring department. The County will make an individualized assessment of whether an applicants driving history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job. License must not be currently suspended restricted or revoked.
PHYSICAL CLASS IV - Arduous:Structured Oral Interview: This will be a virtual online recorded interview weighted 100% of your total score and will evaluate your experience working with cement and concrete including site preparation mixing pouring and finishing concrete and the tools and equipment used.
The passing score for the interview is 70%.
