Job Description

The position is accountable for providing accurate timely and relevant monthly quarterly and annual financial data production reporting analysis planning and forecasting to different stakeholders of the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) Finance Financial Planning & Analysis Retail team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Activelyinvolvedwithconsolidatinganalyzingandsynthesizinglargeamountof financialandnonfinancialinformationfromvariousstakeholders
  • PrepareshighqualitymonthlyandquarterlyreportsdashboardsandpresentationsinatimelyandorganizedfashioncateredtotheneedsofthedifferentstakeholdersofGlobalWAM&GAFinanceFinancialPlanningandAnalysisRetail
  • PreparesMonthly/QuarterlyManagementReporting(MMR)SalesCommentariesCoreEarningsCommentariesForecastsforManulifePrivateWealthAnnual Planningcycleandothers
  • Preparesandmaintainstemplatesofreportpackageshighlightkeyissuesand activelylookforresolution
  • Improvesandreengineersreportingprocessesanddeliverablestocreate consistencyandefficiencyduringmonthendandquarterendcycles
  • Supportstheannualconsolidatedplanningprocessincludinginvestigationoftrendsmodelprojectionssensitivitiesmetricsandpreparationofpresentationdecks
  • Initiatesimprovementsbyexploringidentifyingandimplementingreporting analysisandprocesssolutions
  • WorkscloselywiththeNorthAmericabusinessunitStakeholdersandMBPSFP&A
  • teammatestoensureasmoothreportingandplanningprocessassistinginadhoc requestsasneeded
  • Participatesinteamcrosstrainingtoestablishbackupandimprovementof processeshandled
  • Trainsnewresourceswithintheteamandinconductingqualitychecksonthe teamsworkincertaincircumstances

Required Qualifications:

  • University graduate in Accounting/Finance professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance role (Financial Reporting Management Reporting) exposure to Wealth and Asset Management industry is an asset
  • Strong MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills; ability to succinctly engage with business partners and team members
  • Good technical accounting skills with an understanding of the business environment and financial reporting structure are needed to provide value-added analysis
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced high-performing and collaborative team environment while managing multiple constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive can-do attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power BI knowledge is a plus
  • Anaplan knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS tools (SmartView-Essbase Lawson) is an advantage
