Montreal West Island CIUSSS is currently looking for nurses to join the Intensive Care Unit team at St. Marys Hospital Center.

Duties and responsibilities :

As a Critical Care Nurse you will play a vital role in the management of patients requiring constant monitoring and advanced medical interventions. Youll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality life-saving care.

  • Regularly assess patients monitor their vital condition interpret vital signs test results and monitoring data and detect any change or deterioration in the patients condition;
  • Administer medications specialized treatments and therapies according to medical orders following established protocols to ensure patient safety;
  • Establish a relationship of trust with patients and their families help them understand their condition answer their questions and provide emotional support throughout their stay in critical care;
  • Work closely with the critical care team to develop individualized care plans participate in team meetings and share your knowledge and skills to contribute to continuous quality improvement;
  • Recognize and respond quickly to medical emergencies and critical situations following resuscitation protocols and guidelines established to ensure patient safety.

Requirements :

The person we are looking for must:

  • Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Nursing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a diploma deemed equivalent by the competent authorities;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des infirmires et infirmiers du Qubec (OIIQ);
  • Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with both French- and English-speaking clients;
