Are you highly experienced with payroll and running the payroll function Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend WA is looking for an excellent Payroll Administrator/Accountant to join our accounting team and run the payroll functions of the 1000 person this vital role as the payroll administrator you will be responsible for the full bi-weekly payroll cycle including validating timekeeping payment processing internal and external reporting and reconciliations. You will use your eye for detail to analyze payroll reports for accuracy and prepare and file tax reports ensuring that Jefferson Healthcare meets is compliance obligations. You will also leverage your communication skills to engage effectively with leaders and staff providing training on timekeeping and payroll processes and ensuring all are aware of changes that may impact them.
Our ideal candidate has solid payroll administrator experience understands the required bookkeeping for payroll-related accounts and is comfortable delivering an accurate and timely payroll typically on your own. Experience with payroll in a collective bargaining environment is required and familiarity with Symplr timekeeping and Infor accounting systems will be helpful. What youll need:
- Minimum two (2) years of working in a payroll role in a medium-sized organization with collective
bargaining agreements required. - Associate degree or equivalent experience required
- Experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns required.
- Experience reconciling payroll required
- FPC or CPP designation preferred
- Experience working as sole payroll specialist preferred
- Infor experience preferred
- Symplr timekeeping experience preferred

Essential Functions (please see job description for full listing)
- Perform a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities efficiently and
accurately; including computation of wage and overtime payments calculation and recording of
payroll deductions processing off-cycle payroll runs and processing terminations. - Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records confirming complete and
correct information is entered for every employee. - Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll questions delivering professional
communication and ensuring quick accurate resolution of any payroll-related issues - Monitor adherence to negotiated employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
- Monitor adherence to HR policies and procedures.
- Recommend/draft revisions to policies to improve clarity and enforceability.
- Maintain complete and accurate payroll records ensuring all transactions are supported by proper
documentation providing a clear audit trail and meeting compliance requirements. - Calculate often complex salary overpayments and retro adjustments.
- Use professional judgement when assessing and recommending appropriate recovery actions
taking account of individual circumstances consistent with existing policies.
