Job Description

Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Finance team! We are looking for entrepreneurial analytical creative flexible leaders to help us redefine the IT industry. If you want to join a fast-paced innovative team responsible for driving the AWS Applications go to market strategy while optimizing the financial performance of a diverse business portfolio this is the place for you!

In this role youll be at the center of AWSs sales strategy partnering directly with the Worldwide Specialist Connect GTM team to optimize the investments and drive revenue and users. Youll collaborate with senior Sales Business Development Engineering and Finance leaders to build financial plans analyze large-scale investment opportunities develop new go-to-market strategies and identify opportunities for business growth. You will play key roles in both running the day-to-day business and helping drive strategic growth for the future.
You are a well-rounded performer and will play an impactful role on the team. You demonstrate excellent business judgment and problem solving and possess strong attention to detail.


Key job responsibilities
Serve as the key finance partner supporting the WWSO leaders providing financial support and business insights
Thought leadership to identify and implement solutions to resolve improve automate standardize or simplify finance processes
Provide industry and segment analysis to develop go-to-market strategies for new and existing services
Create and implement business mechanisms that are scalable to help the team make data-driven decisions
Lead the development of financial models and advanced analytical tools that aid in key decision making
Build rhythm of the business processes that help business leaders understand progress to goals as well as strategic insights to guide overall direction
Collect analyze and present data-driven research that challenges status quo and champion change
Perform ad-hoc analysis proactively and present findings to senior leadership


- 5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience

- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
