This vacancy is located at the Office of Motor Vehicles Greensburgoffice in St. HelenaParish.
This position oversees the operations and staff of a motor vehicle office ensuring efficient and compliant service related to vehicle registration licensing and related transactions.The official job specifications for this role as defined by the State Civil Service can be found here.
Job Duties:
-Maintains good public relations with the general public public officials lending institutions dealers notaries order to provide efficient and effective service. Incumbent is responsible for promoting a positive image representative of the Office of Motor Vehicles/Field. Incumbent interviews applicants for job opening. Incumbent trains new employees. Incumbent counsels employees. And if needed recommends disciplinary action up the chain of command. Incumbent maintains time and attendance records for all employees. Incumbent performs the duties of the Motor Vehicle Office/Field in the issuance of drivers license vehicle registrations certificate of title and reinstatement functions. Process drivers license applications reviews documentation and performs all testing requirements. This includes administering road test to determine the driving skills of the applicant. Reviews documents submitted for vehicle registrations and reinstatement policies and collects appropriate fees.
-Incumbent accepts total responsibility for the office and its operations. This includes responsibility for all employees approving of leave performance rating etc. Incumbent is responsible for security or daily bank deposits and security of the building and the contents thereof which are the properties of the Office of Motor Vehicles at the open and close of the work day.
-Assigns review and evaluates the work processed by employees and provides assistance and information in unique situations/cases which may develop from altered documents improper documentation irate customers etc.
-Responsible for the compiling of statistics for daily weekly and monthly reports of productions inventories sales of inspection stickers petty cash fund supplies etc. These reports are submitted to the Motor Vehicle Region Manager/ Field. Responsible for the daily deposits of all funds collected verifying accuracy of supporting reports and the physical bank deposits.
-Monitors office operations to ensure that all transactions are properly completed randomly audits work production purges lines that develop for waiting customers answers correspondence handles inquiries composes and issues rejection letters when submitted documents are not adequate. Also answers complaints either by written or phone correspondence to address issues in question.
Appointment Type:This position will be filled as a promotional classified position.
