Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supports the Manager Operational Risk in overseeing the operational risk framework in accordance with regulatory expectations and evolving business practices
- Ensures business unit adherence to regulatory requirements policies and procedures
- Continuously identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness and enhancement of operational risk programs and recommends appropriate action
- Participates in key business initiatives related to system enhancements and business process re-engineering by providing support to the Team project teams and business partners in supporting digitization and innovation
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of key regulations and legislation affecting residential mortgage activities such as B20 AML etc
- Assist Relationship Managers with assessing and monitoring Third-Party relationships
- Responsible for the completion of the Business Unit Risk Assessments and assist in developing Risk Mitigation Action Plans
Qualifications & Experience:
Degrees Diplomas & Certifications:
The position requires a university degree or equivalent
Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:
- The position requires at least 3 years experience working in a Banking environment
- Experience in change management business continuity control analysis and risk governance in a non-prime mortgage environment
- Solid understanding of OSFI FCAC regulations and guidelines relating to mortgage lending/servicing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prioritize multiple demands using effective time management skills
- Detail oriented with a high level of intellectual curiosity and strong sense of ownership
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and with the team
- Comfortable using multiple system platforms simultaneously; Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of Salesforce platforms
- Bilingual candidates preferred
