Accountant/Auditor II

SALARY INFORMATION

Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above based on position requirements and the successful candidates qualifications subject to appropriate authorization.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

This recruitment will establish an open eligible list that will be used to fill current and future Accountant/Auditor II vacancies. The current vacancy is with the Registrar of Voters however the eligible list established will also be used to fill positions throughout the County of Orange.

DEADLINE TO APPLY

REGISTRAR OF VOTERS

TheOrange County Registrar of Voters (ROV)is a nationally recognized and award-winning agency responsible for conducting elections verifying petitions and maintaining voter records in the County of Orange. The Printing and Graphics Department a division of the Registrar of Voters serves the critical role of printing copying and bindery needs of the ROV and other County departments. The production facility located at 1300 South Grand Avenue in Santa Ana is certified by the CA Secretary of State for printing of election ballots and is responsible for printing vote by mail ballots for more than 1.9 million registered voters each addition to supporting the election printing needs of the ROV the Printing and Graphics Department also supports the printing needs of departments such as Social Services Health Care Agency Probation Sheriff Clerk Recorder County Executive Office as well as local cities and municipalities.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Accountant/Auditor IIs primary responsibilities includes managing a five million annual billing via journal entries and invoices payroll processing accounts payable and receivable reconciling all department reporting and reviewing and processing mileage claim forms as well as performing other office duties as needed/assigned.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

This position will require to work overtime as needed during the election season including weekends weeknights and/or holidays.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS& CORE COMPETENCIES

In addition to the minimum qualifications the ideal candidate will possess at least one (1) year of experience with payroll processing or account reconciliation/billings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and/or experience in the following core competencies:

Technical Knowledge Technical Experience

Problem Solving Analytical Skills

Oral Written Communication Skills

NOTE:Foreign degrees require an evaluation of U.S. equivalency by an agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Services (N.A.C.E.S.).

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Human Resource Services (HRS) will screen all application materials to identify qualified applicants. After screening qualified applicants will be referred to the next step and notified of all further procedures applicable to their status in the competition.

Online Assessment (Un-proctored): (Weighted 100%)

Candidates will be invited to participate in an online assessment covering job-related items. The candidates with the most competitive scores will be referred to the next step and notified of all further procedures applicable to their status in the recruitment.

Based on the Departments needs the selection procedure listed above may be modified. All candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedure.

Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
