Manager Data Engineering - Hybrid Opportunity
This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood TN with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers (onshore and offshore) in building scalable secure and high-performing data solutions.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of our enterprise data warehouse and data lake aligning them with healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA).
- Design and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks Spark and other Azure data services to ingest transform and deliver healthcare data from multiple sources including EMRs claims and patient portals.
- Collaborate with clinical operational and analytics teams to deliver reliable self-service data and insights.
- Ensure robust data governance privacy and quality practices across the organization.
- Drive adoption of Agile and iterative development practices within the team.
- Play a key role in workforce planning hiring coaching and performance management.
- Communicate data strategy roadmap and results clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles with 2 years in a leadership or people management capacity.
- Strong background in SQL data modeling and ETL/ELT development.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks including:
- Building Spark-based data pipelines
- Managing cluster performance and cost optimization
- Integrating with Azure Data Factory and Data Lake Storage.
- Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture and healthcare-specific data challenges.
- Familiarity with healthcare data formats and standards such as HL7 FHIR or claims data.
- Proficiency in BI tools like Power BI Tableau or Sigma.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
