Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting 4H Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) and Family and Consumer Science (FACS) agents and team staff in the planning and implementation of daily programming to meet the needs of the children in attendance; and set up program project and activity areas as needed. This position will also collaborate and assist staff in designing and implementing activities and assignments to encourage attendees intellectual creative artistic and active enrichment and abilities; and assist students in working on and completing classroom and curricular assignments projects and activities.
Essential Duties- Preparing educational handouts and assembling supplies for classes programs and events
- Assisting with registering class participants (virtually or in-person)
- Assisting with preparation and distribution of activity kits for hands-on learning labs
- Collecting program evaluations
- Assisting with the development and coordination of a calendar for program activities and events designed to complement student learning and enrichment
- Communicating objectives and activities of the program
- Performing related duties as assigned
Public Speaking Duties
- Speaking and presenting information to groups
- Assisting with fundraising events such as Gwinnett Extensions annual plant sale
- Collaborating with team members to develop and implement a public relations agenda to promote student enrollment
Other Job Requirements/Information
- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED AND
- 1 year of educational programming experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
