Description

Position Summary

The Territory Manager is responsible for the onboarding orientation and ongoing support of Registered Nurses (RNs) within the assigned region. This role ensures effective scheduling compliance with clinical and administrative standards and continuity of patient care. The Territory Manager also provides direct patient care when necessary to maintain service quality and coverage.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Review and evaluate candidate resumes to ensure qualifications meet organizational standards.
  • Verify nursing license status and confirm absence of disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to complete onboarding documentation and schedule interviews.
  • Ensure all required documentation is submitted prior to orientation.
  • Conduct chart audits to confirm onboarding accuracy and compliance.
  • Deliver in-person field training (minimum two days for infusion therapy; one day for experienced RNs).
  • Complete and maintain supervisory visit documentation in employee records.
  • Maintain flexible availability to provide direct patient care when RN coverage is unavailable.
  • Assign new patient referrals to qualified RNs within the territory.
  • Approve and monitor RN timesheets and daily schedules to prevent overtime and ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate policy updates expectations and procedural changes to nursing staff.
  • Provide education and training on new medications infusion pumps and clinical equipment.
  • Conduct annual supervisory visits and competency assessments for all assigned RNs.
  • Attend daily team meetings and accurately document meeting minutes.
  • Update patient and employee charts with relevant clinical behavioral and administrative information.
  • Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain continuity of care.
  • Fill staffing gaps by providing direct patient care when necessary.
  • Ensure timely submission and review of RN timesheets and related documentation.
  • Travel within the assigned territory (up to two hours) as needed to support patient care and staff supervision.
  • Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures Federal and State regulations and laws.

  • Comply with the policies and procedures stated in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program by always working in a safe manner and immediately reporting any injury safety hazard or program violation.
  • Ensure conduct is consistent with all Compliance Program Policies and procedures when engaging in any activity on behalf of the company. Immediately report any concerns or violations.

Qualifications

Education Knowledge Skills and Experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Required Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical nursing practices patient care standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with infusion therapy protocols specialty medications and home health care operations.

Required Experience:

  • Three (3) years seven (7) years in lieu of degree experience in a clinical nursing environment with direct responsibility for staff supervision and patient care coordination.
  • One (1) years in a supervisor/manager role.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in infusion nursing or specialty infusion services.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to lead and manage staff effectively while maintaining focus and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment in both clinical and administrative settings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and scheduling.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with staff patients and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving clinical practices technologies and patient needs.

Professional Certification:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Immunoglobulin Certified Nurse (IgCN) credential required within one (1) year of employment.
  • Completion of IgNS training on a biannual basis.

Physical requirements

Vision hearing speech movements requiring the use of wrists hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position as scheduled. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver items of at least 20 lbs. Must have the ability to travel 75% of the time. Working condition include normal office setting.

Mental Demands

Learning thinking concentration and the ability to work under pressure particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions.
