Job Description
Come join a creative team of Operations Technology Network Engineers that builds and operates the wired and wireless networks that power Amazon Grocery Stores worldwide.
The Network Engineering and Services team part of Global Operations Technology Infrastructure Engineering Organization is looking for an experienced Network Development Engineer to drive the development sustainability and operational excellence of our network systems and tooling. This position will collaborate with a team of like-minded engineers located around the world to shape the future of our Data Networks Operations.
Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous possesses strong written and verbal communication skills strong project management and time management skills and has a successful track record of designing and operating effective scalable solutions. High level of Ownership Deep Dive and Bias-for-Action is required to be successful in this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Be responsible for the design build and operations of the global network
- Drive innovation and simplification of network services to meet the demand of our customers
- Create simple processes and pipelines for end-to-end deployment and testing of network services
- Work closely with our engineering teams to help alleviate customer problems through self-service network solutions
- Work on new scalable reliable and secure designs/solutions bringing them from concept to in life operations
- Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network adheres these standards
- Review and implement changes on the network through automation and orchestration solutions
- Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our network quality and reliability
- Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network
- Work with a wide range of complex technologies including optical engineering
- Highly autonomous possesses strong written and verbal communication skills strong project management and time management skills
- Successful track record of designing simple solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions
- The desire and ability to work in a fast paced collaborative environment.

- 4 years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 4 years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- 4 years in a network focused hands-on technical role working with routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data centre and/or WAN network environments.
- 1 years of automation scripting using Python Bash Shell and/or Perl experience
- Associates degree
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking IP routing Server Load Balancing and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP TCP OSPF BGP MPLS Server Load Balancers Firewalls ACLs DNS DHCP IPAM etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
