This role is responsible for inspecting finished and in-process products against established standards using simple measuring tools and equipment to determine acceptance or rejection. The inspector ensures compliance with requirements related to line clearance raw materials in-process inspection manufacturing and addition they assist in training and guiding less experienced inspectors and production personnel in quality control methods and procedures. The position requires basic math skills including decimals and fractions as well as the ability to use formulas charts tables drawings specifications schedules and computer input devices such as scales micrometers calipers gradient cylinders force gauges and mag mics. Responsibilities also include auditing reports forms and records to ensure adherence to procedures and requirements and exercising some judgment when following instructions prescribed routines or responding to preprogrammed computer commands that require minor decisions. Regular and consistent attendance is essential along with performing additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED along with at least one year of experience in quality inspection or in a manufacturing environment at Inline Plastics. They must be able to interpret and apply documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as write routine reports and communicate effectively both one-on-one and in group settings. Strong interpersonal skills are essential with the ability to interact across various groups of people and investigate or troubleshoot problems as they arise. Candidates should be comfortable following detailed written and oral instructions in English with bilingual skills considered a plus. The role requires the ability to apply commonsense reasoning to carry out instructions delivered in written oral or diagram form and to resolve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations. Proficiency in basic math-including addition subtraction multiplication division fractions decimals and formulas-is necessary as is the ability to use charts drawings and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Access) is required while experience in data acquisition is preferred. Additionally candidates must be able to accurately read and use micrometers calipers and digital force gauges.
