JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for daily tasks within the Accounting department with a focus on accounts receivable and collections. The position provides staff assistance to the VP of Accounting Operations and other management.
COMPENSATION
$23 - $25 per hour depending on qualifications. Paid time off health insurance benefits and a 401(k) plan are also available for eligible team members.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Provide professional customer service about questions on delinquent accounts.
Identify and facilitate resolution of client issues.
Communicate with Sales team and process credit memos and debit memos.
Maintain various spreadsheets for reconciling special handling accounts.
Review terms of payments on contracts to make sure invoices are issued timely.
Review accounts receivable aging weekly to communicate with clients and handle payment arrangement timely.
Follow established AR collection procedures to ensure a strong and positive cash flow.
Perform collections and maintain good standing AR aging as outlined in the AR collection incentive plan.
Obtain review and maintain basic credit information from client requesting a payment net term. Review past payment history and recommend a reasonable and acceptable payment term.
Reconcile customer deposit accounts and other AR related reporting.
Support AR and AP Specialist as backup.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
2-3 years previous experience in collections with a customer service focus.
Previous experience with Sage 100 is a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (highly proficient with Excel).
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with customers via email and phone.
Acute attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines.
Strong organizational research follow-up and time management skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as contribute as part of a team.
