Wage Range: $31.51 - $41.46 per hour
Job Purpose Statement:
The job of Accounting Specialist II is established for the purposes of supporting the
business office in the area of Accounts Receivable Medicaid Billing and Grant Budgets.
Provides direct support to the Director of Fiscal Services.
Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required and
- Associate Degree/Bachelors Degree in business or accounting field preferred or
- Vocational or technical training in an accredited program specializing in business or accounting principles and
- At least two years of experience in working in accounts receivable grant management and medicaid billing fields of service preferred.
Licenses Certifications Bonding and/or Testing Required:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Valid Drivers License and evidence of insurability
- Successfully pass district background screening

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with accounting tasks related to accounts receivable Medicaid billing and grant
management in accordance with policies and procedures as deemed necessary by the
Business Manager.
- Recording of all receipts in a manner most beneficial to the district; and that the
accounting for funds is complete and accurate
- Assist Finance Controller with completion of pre-auditing and auditing related tasks.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with staff
information.
- Work with auditors as requested to provide documents samples reports and other
records.
- Maintain Districts Accounts Receivable program including collection of outstanding
invoices mailing of monthly statements and generating invoice documents.
- Monitor all grants to ensure that grant guidelines are followed and grant funds are
properly expended and all reimbursements are received in a timely fashion.
- Provide backup for payroll and accounts payable.
- Assist the Business Department in providing periodic financial reports for use by the
board.
- Work directly with Program Directors and Administrative Assistants in providing feedback
and guidance regarding account status of funds.
- Improve and update skills by attending appropriate seminars workshops or classes as
requested.
