Job Description

Job Summary:

Helium plant managers lead the day-to-day operations of Messers respective helium sites in support of company and customer needs. Managers oversee the financial performance of the locations and influence P&L performance through judicious management of costs and implementation of efficiency initiatives. Safe operations adherence to compliance quality and regulatory requirements and providing the highest level of customer service are the priorities that drive daily decisions.

Thesalaryrangefor this position is $81000-$136000. Messer provides medical dental vision short term disability life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits such as long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messers 401(k) may be eligible to participate in the companys bonus program.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operational and financial operations of a Helium Transfill.
  • Oversee filling of liquid helium dewars gaseous helium tube trailers & cylinders
  • Support for Messer customers through coordination with Messers upstream helium supply chain organization neighboring helium transfill sites sales and helium customer service.
  • Mange site cost center contribution to Messers P&L
  • Provide local front-line management for Messers ColdServe technicians working out of the transfill
  • Plan direct and coordinate all local activities including production filling maintenance and distribution requirements to meet customer needs
  • Ensure all safety quality regulatory and accreditation procedures/policies are implemented; ensure staff are appropriately trained to support such requirements
  • Manage distribution activities and personnel to ensure compliance with DOT and CSA programs; ensure all drivers are compliant with Messer requirements as well as local state and federal regulations
  • Ensure the site meets local state and federal regulatory requirements (FDA DOH DOT OSHA etc.).
  • Represent the site during internal audits and external regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor and analyze cost center performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement goals projects and policies that will enable the site to advance Messers safety culture improve efficiency and achieve a competitive advantage in the market
  • Understand Messers helium business to anticipate future trends and develop action plans to enable the site to meet the markets needs.
  • Oversee all purchasing of parts processing of payroll SAP SAP PM GOLD CMS Intelex and Inventory Systems for the Plant.
  • Develop operating strategies and pro-actively prepare for future demands based on analysis of current and past results
  • Promote and maintain strong customer service focus among all site employees; develop and monitor distribution schedules to ensure customers are served safely in a timely manner
  • Ensure the site meets Messers cleanliness preservation and storage standards; ensure staff meets professional appearance requirements
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with staff to keep the team informed of initiatives strategies and operational challenges that may affect their work environment.
  • Maintain personal professional growth by seeking opportunities through internal resources and professional educational programs and activities to advance knowledge and expertise; encourage and support professional growth amongst site staff.
  • Build and develop the site team to ensure sustainable business continuity
  • Motivate and encourage employees to participate in team building activities

Basic Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a Technical discipline; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related operations/plant management experience with at least 3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent as a Lead

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or similar field (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • 5 years experience in project engineering or design preferably related to metals industry equipment
