Overview:

  • Full-time Continuing position

  • Salary Academic Level D ($170080- $187373 p.a.) 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class STEM College at a university with strong industry connections and a global outlook. About the Role

As Associate Professor you will provide academic leadership and drive excellence in teaching and research within the School the University and across professional commercial and industry sectors. Your focus will be in construction management digital transformation in construction and building engineering.

You will deliver original and innovative contributions that advance the Schools scholarly research and professional capabilities at both national and international levels. You will also contribute strongly to teaching and learning with a focus on improving student outcomes.

You will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Department including academic leadership and service on committees across the Department School College and University. You may also be required to provide strategic leadership in teaching research or scholarship.

To be successful in this position youll meet the following Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.

  • Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and emerging international recognition in construction management digital transformation in construction and building engineering.

  • Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.

  • Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead scholarly development and manage and supervise academic teams and members.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial governance and quality management systems within a university.

  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives external bodies produce executive reports negotiate agreed directions outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.

  • Proven ability as an effective member of a management team that develops and achieves shared goals and objectives.

Mandatory Qualifications: PhD in Civil Engineering.
