Department/Unit Summary:
The Division of Hematology and Oncology conducts research and treats all types of adult cancers including solid tumor cancers and hematological (blood) disorders as well as coagulation disorders and non-cancerous blood diseases. With over 80 faculty members representing a broad range of professional training and expertise our dedicated team of professionals is committed to cancer care through research to better understand and treat cancers; state-of-the-art patient care and personalized cancer therapy; clinical trials including Phase I drug development with subsequent Phase II and Phase III testing; training future cancer doctors and researchers; and cancer chemotherapy pharmacology and biological therapy with an emphasis on solid tumors

Shift:
Full-Time Day Shift - 9:30 am to 10:00 pm (three 12-hour shifts per week)
Shifts will rotate throughout the week
Will work every 3rd weekend
Note: Set schedules are not available. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes orders according to guidelines follows computer downtime procedures.
Enters and updates information in computer system to assure current information and retrieves data accurately.
Maintains unit log according to guidelines makes follow up appointments and performs discharge related clerical tasks.
Responds to patient call system and patient requests providing clear current information to families visitors and staff.
Uses telephone patient call system beeper/paging system fax/copy machine scanning unit specific monitoring devices pneumatic tube system and to facilitate flow of communication equipment and supplies.
Orders maintains and uses supplies in a cost effective manner.
