Title: Development Manager Location: Archdiocesan Council Office (2403 Holcombe Blvd Houston) Remote work available on Monday and Friday.
We are seeking a collaborative team-oriented organized and energetic Development Manager.A successful candidate will have three (3) years of progressive experience in fundraising for a non-profit organization and two (2) years of leading a team or a function. The Development Manager designs and implements the annual development plan meeting the goals established by the Board of Directors in the Strategic Plan and values of the agency.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston (SVdP) is a grassroots volunteer-based direct-aid organization that brings together men and women to grow in their spirituality through service of others. We have been serving the Greater Houston area since 1871. We are part of a national organization and linked by the common mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Essential Responsibilities: - Implement the fundraising strategy for the organization honoring timelines and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Coordinate with staff to research cultivate and solicit donors by maintaining consistent contact with the current portfolio of donors and placing an emphasis on major gifts and planned giving opportunities.
- Manage the creation and publication of marketing collaterals adhering to the executive timeline of activities.
- Maintain company website marketing and communication software seals/credentials and donor database with integrity.
- Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication with prospective donors foundations civic/church groups corporations and individuals.
- Understand acknowledge and meet donor expectations aligned with the Societys mission vision and values.
- Monitor and assist with managing the completion of fundraising activities including grant applications letters of intent grant funding reports campaign launches and events.
- Collaborate with contracted professionals to execute activities in an efficient and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure timely reporting of incoming revenue and adherence to a budget focusing on meeting annual fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to identify areas in need of funding and develop a case for support to obtain funding required for program operations.
- Track and analyze data to submit quarterly performance reports.
- Supervisory responsibilities for one associate.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree from four-year college or university in business administration marketing or public administration preferred.
- At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the nonprofit community performing fundraising and development activities including grant writing.
- Two (2) years experience in leading a team or function.
- Proficient computer skills including electronic mail record keeping routine database activity social media and Microsoft Office programs.
- Effective communicator with both internal and external contacts.
