Job Title: Lubrication Technician

Job Summary:
The Lubrication Technician is primarily responsible for performing vehicle maintenance services specifically lubricating vehicle components inspecting and replenishing vehicle fluids and ensuring that the vehicles are serviced in accordance with dealership and manufacturer specifications. The position requires interaction with customers technical knowledge of vehicle systems and adherence to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance: The Lubrication Technician is responsible for performing vehicle services as outlined on the repair order or work order including but not limited to lubricating moving parts draining and refilling oil replacing oil and air filters inspecting vehicle fluid levels and replenishing fluids as necessary.
Customer Interaction and Sales: The position includes customer service responsibilities including selling lubrication services safety inspections and other related services.
Documentation and Record Keeping: The Lubrication Technician must document all work performed on repair orders detailing the services rendered and parts used.
Safety and Cleanliness: The Lubrication Technician shall ensure that all tools and equipment are operated in a safe manner and in compliance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
Communication and Coordination: The Lubrication Technician is required to communicate with the Parts Department to order necessary parts and tools as well as report any malfunctions or defects in the machinery or equipment to the supervisor.
Regulatory Compliance: The Lubrication Technician shall comply with all applicable safety health environmental and regulatory standards including but not limited to hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know regulations. Any safety hazards or concerns must be immediately reported to management.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Experience in vehicle maintenance or lubrication services is not required but prior experience is a plus.
Technical training or completion of related coursework from a college or trade school is desirable but not mandatory.
Skills:
Effective communication skills to interact with customers co-workers and supervisors.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as adding subtracting multiplying and dividing in units of money weight volume and distance.
Work Environment:
The Lubrication Technician will primarily work in a vehicle service area or shop which may involve exposure to vehicle exhaust chemicals oils lubricants and other automotive fluids.
Employees in this position may be exposed to high levels of noise vibrations and moving mechanical parts.
Proper safety gear must be always worn including gloves safety glasses and hearing protection where necessary.
FLSA Status Clarification:
This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. The employee is entitled to meal and rest breaks in accordance with applicable state and federal labor.
