Our Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville Minnesota is seeking a Lead Technician to join our team of experienced engineers and technicians supporting production. As a member of our team you will lead in developing building troubleshooting and integrating innovative test solutions supporting commercial and military and defense sensor this role you will be exposed to a wide variety of test solutions at various stages of their life cycle. A successful candidate will be a fast learner with the ability to respond to requests efficiently. Day to day activities include building test hardware such as cables power distribution boxes valve boxes switch matrices troubleshooting test solutions and updating documentation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead developing integrating and testing electrical components and equipment systems as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical devices problems on the production line.

  • Lead in the building of test hardware (cables boxes system racks etc.) and test solutions per engineering drawings.

  • Create and review test system designs and documentation with engineering to meet customer requirements. Will work in updating documentation (drawings schematics BOM classification) or providing markups of new and existing test hardware.

  • You will provide guidance for engineering regarding prototype design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • You will work in a collaborative team environment and be able to communicate effectively with engineers operators and technicians.

  • You will lead in orienting training and inspecting the work of fellow technical employees.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Collaborating as a team to solve the most difficult problems.

  • Effective time management in an agile environment.

  • Integration and system-level to sub-assembly level troubleshooting and investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

  • 8 years as a technician supporting assembly and or testing.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Experience building complex cable assemblies non-standard wire harnesses test boxes valve boxes and assemblies of test systems.

  • Proficient knowledge reviewing and editing engineering schematics and wire lists and a strong understanding of Minnesota State Electrical codes and statues.

  • Proficient knowledge of hand air and pneumatic tools common testing equipment and crimping.

  • Experience with low-/high-voltage test systems.

  • Demonstrates good communication and mentorship skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.

The salary range for this role is 56000 USD - 112000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
