Position Summary
- The selected individual is required to teach in person on multiple days at our main campuses learning or satellite centers during the morning afternoon and evening.
- Develop course syllabi and materials.
- Evaluate mastery of student program and institutional learning outcomes. Participate in the development of formative and summative assessments and assessment instruments.
- Maintain office hours to provide student advisement participate in recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
- Participate in School Department and Program meetings and activities.
- Other duties as assigned by Chair for needs of the office division and institution.
Required Qualifications
- A masters degree in Criminal Justice Criminology or Administration of Justice from an accredited college/university.
- Five (5) years of full-time practitioner experience in the criminal justice profession.
- Practitioner experience within the last eight (8) years.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of two years full-time teaching experience at the college level in the criminal justice discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing curriculum assessment plans formative and summative assessments assessment instruments and conducting analysis of course and program assessment.
- Practitioner experience within the last five (5) years.
Candidates will be required to do a teaching demonstration.
Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada NFA Contract 2022-2025.
Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example for an instructor with a Masters degree the salary range would be $58046 to $74304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for the initial salary placement purposes.
