Job Overview
Podar Education Network is seeking a dedicated Purchase Co Ordinator for our Shimoga location. This is a full-time mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement processes ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods to support our educational operations. They will collaborate closely with other departments to maintain inventory levels and supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven work experience in procurement or supply chain roles ideally within the education sector or a similar industry with a minimum of 4 years.
- Strong knowledge of vendor management principles and best practices to ensure seamless procurement operations.
- Experience in inventory management to help maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize costs.
- Familiarity with supply chain management processes to enhance organizational procurement efficiency.
- B.E Civil essential for understanding the technical specifications and requirements of educational infrastructure. (Mandatory skill)
- Proficiency in purchase order processing is necessary for accurate and timely placement of purchase orders. (Mandatory skill)
- Proven ability to negotiate with vendors to achieve the best terms and prices for goods and services.
- Effective communication skills for clear coordination with internal and external stakeholders to meet procurement goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal departments to identify procurement needs and develop specifications.
- Review and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner to meet organizational requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality service and goods are delivered on time.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate procurement activities to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to achieve cost-effective purchasing targets.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and offerings.
- Report on purchasing activities spend analysis and vendor performance to management.
