About the role:

This position is situated withinMacKillop Family ServicesSouth West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) program isresponsible for providing in-home practical support and childcare services to families in crisis inlocations across theSouth WestofWestern Australia.

With an hourly Rateof $35.67 to $41.45 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 2-3 dependent on qualification and experience the Family Support Worker provides home-based emergency care to children within the family andprovides practicalsupportstofamilies in crisis.

The Family Support Worker is a member of theMacKillop Family ServicesSouth Westteam andreports to theSWECC Team Leader.

This is a Causal opportunity based in South West Region WA within our South West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) program. The position reports to the SWECC Team Leader.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and at risk families and children to address practical issues within a home including the emergency care of children.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers staff and other stakeholders as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Drivers Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
