ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and analyze collection systems for renewable energy projects including wind solar and battery storage facilities.
- Perform load flow short circuit and protection coordination studies to ensure system reliability and compliance.
- Prepare technical drawings specifications and reports for collection systems and electrical designs.
- Support field activities by providing guidance addressing design issues and reviewing technical documents.
- Cross collaborate with various teams to integrate electrical designs into overall project development.
- Review manufacturer equipment drawings
- Ensure designs comply with national and local electrical codes (NEC NESC IEEE IEC) and interconnection requirements.
- Prepare and review equipment specifications and procurement documents
- Communicate effectively with multiple teams throughout the project.
- Stay updated on industry trends regulatory changes and emerging technologies in power systems and renewable energy integration
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering renewable engineering or relevant field
- Masters Degree in Engineering with renewable energy focus a plus
- 3 years of relevant experience in power systems renewable energy or utility-scale electrical engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical design software such as ETAP PSCAD SKM or equivalent.
- Ability to work on multi-discipline projects
- Understanding of power distribution systems.
- Technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of renewable energy industry relating to utility scale wind and solar projects
- Proficient in MS Word Excel Outlook
- Problem-solving analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
