None/Not RequiredWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Materials Engineer to provide technical leadership for material selection qualification and process integration across the manufacturing site. Operating in a fast-paced environment this role is responsible for driving innovation in materials characterization and analysis in support of driving key initiatives that improve critical performance metrics.

What You Will Do:
Partner with manufacturing engineering and operations to resolve complex material and process-related issues on the shop floor.
Lead initiatives to improve yield reduce scrap and optimize raw material usage.
Champion continuous improvement projects related to material utilization processing joining and finishing.
Provide technical leadership in material selection process design and qualification to align with business goals and long-term manufacturing strategies.
Develop and implement material standards best practices and guidelines across the plant.
Oversee qualification and certification of new materials suppliers and processes to support product innovation and plant modernization.
Provide guidance to procurement on supplier qualifications specifications and alternate sourcing strategies.
Collaborate with design engineering manufacturing engineering and quality assurance to drive material-related improvements in new and existing products.
Ensure compliance with regulatory environmental and industry-specific material standards
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Knowledge of material properties manufacturing processes and material characterization methods (SEM EDS CT scan fatigue testing corrosion analysis)
Understanding fundamentals of data analytics statistics and design of experiment (DOE)
Qualifications We Prefer:
Aerospace or defense industry experience
Experience in a laboratory or production support environment
Understanding of lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects troubleshoot root cause and implement creative solutions
