Job Description

Direct plan and implement all activities related to the Strive Towards Excellence Programs (STEP) for both middle school and undergraduate students. Work with middle school high school and college students to encourage and prepare them for college and graduate multiple programs within Academic Achievement.

Essential Functions:

25% Direct the day to day administrative functions of the program funds according to policies and and evaluate the programs. Prepare reports and proposals as needed. Supervise and provide leadership to assigned staff.

25% Provide early intervention education and advising to students from disadvantaged backgrounds for the purpose of enabling them to succeed in undergraduate and graduate course.

20% Serve as a liaison between university target schools and communities while acting as a representative of assigned programs.

10% Oversee campus activities and committees while acting as a representative of the programs.

10% Participate in professional development activities to increase the effectiveness of the programs.

10% Maintain knowledge of all federal regulations governing execution of program compliance with governmental and University rules and regulations.

Additional Position Information:

Required Qualifications: Requires a Masters degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in academic program management preferably with programs offered by academic achievement department with emphasis on middle school and undergraduate working with youth in teaching supervisory or counseling capacity along with an interest in the education of students from disadvantaged backgrounds written verbal interpersonal communication skills including public speaking and public relation skills knowledge including capabilities in word processing spreadsheet and database software packages required. Budgeting skills required.

Preferred Qualifications: 4 years of experience and prior supervisory experience.
