Job Description
Are you a licensed CPA who would like to co-own a small accounting and payroll company that offers its services to small nonprofitsAs Compliance Director reporting to the CEO you will be Co-Leader in the company in a role that will allow you to succeed the founder within two years as a Co-Owner of the company.You will empower nonprofit missions through full-service accounting.
What youll do:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with professional standards IRS and other federal state and local regulations affecting the firm and its clients
- Review clients month-end workpapers adjustments and prepared and compiled financial statements
- Manage the firms peer review process
- Develop and maintain the System of Quality Management
- Conduct regular internal audits
- Review clients month-end workpapers adjustments and prepared and compiled financial statements
- Provide client support for budgeting grant applications and reporting and workers compensation audits
- Gain knowledge and expertise in Form 990 preparation working with the firms tax concierge to ensure accurate and timely submission
- Provide on going compliance training to staff on GAAP nonprofit accounting and regulatory updates
- Maintain KPIs and report metrics to staff
- Monitor the firms ACDC (Attract Convert Deliver and Collect) metrics; report to staff and facilitate improvement
- Support staff recruitment onboarding training and performance tracking
- Maintain a highly collaborative approach to client service delivery.
What youll bring:
- Active CPA license
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in public accounting preferred in audit or tax or both
- Strong belief in diversity equity and inclusion
- High emotional intelligence
