Were looking for a Product Designer with technical aptitude and a passion for solving complex problems. Specifically youll help design a product that nearly every Datadog customer uses - Dashboards to proactively monitor the health of applications and enable troubleshooting when something goes wrong.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with teams across Datadog to expand Dashboards functionality and tailor our platform capabilities to different personas and use cases. Youll engage with customers to understand their needs and pain points conduct in-depth research on major and emerging dashboarding tools and collaborate closely with engineers and product managers alongside designers on your team. Your ability to communicate and translate technical concepts into intuitive and scalable designs will be key to your success in this role.
What Youll Do:
Work with product managers engineers and researchers to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed.
See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas sketch and prototype to bring them to life and ship products and features that make Datadog better.
Develop a relationship with your engineering team to understand how your designs will be built and how you can provide quality assurance.
Communicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions across the company.
Be the expert in your product area and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive the roadmap and vision.
Who You Are:
You have 5 years of experience in digital product design.
Your portfolio includes a proven track record of intuitive and scalable solutions in web applications.
You are a strong visual and written communicator able to clearly communicate your design work and justify for your design decisions.
You enjoy working on complex technical design problems.
You enjoy systems thinking and using component-based design patterns.
You have experience with advanced modern-day UX/UI tools (e.g. Figma).
You give and receive feedback well supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own.
Bonus Points:
Familiarity designing for developer tools dashboard tools reporting tools or other highly complex problem spaces.
You have experience in a SaaS or B2B startup and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
