What you will do-
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize injection molding processes for high-quality plastic components. This role focuses on improving efficiency reducing costs and ensuring compliance with industry standards through process innovation validation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations safety protocols and quality standards (e.g. ISO FDA-QSR) in molding operations.
- Analyze and troubleshoot molding defects (e.g. flash short shots warpage) and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain inspection and testing protocols using SPC vision systems and functional gauging to ensure part quality.
- Design build or procure molds fixtures and auxiliary equipment to optimize production and reduce costs.
- Monitor and analyze process metrics (rework rates scrap trends cycle times) and implement improvements to increase yield.
- Support new product development by recommending efficient molding techniques tooling strategies and material selection.
- Maintain accurate documentation for molds trials and process improvements to support traceability and audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams customers and suppliers to resolve issues and standardize processes.
What you need-
Required:
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical Manufacturing or related field).
- 1 year of experience in plastics processing.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience with process development validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and inspection method creation.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Desired:
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO FDA-QSR).
- Exposure to scientific molding principles and mold maintenance.
- Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
