Job Description
Overview
CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care assisted and residential living communities community health services organizations home health agencies and numerous outpatient facilities.
Responsibilities
This position supports the mission vision and philosophy of CHI and St. Josephs Hospital and Health Center. Previous hospital social work experience preferred.
- Completes psychosocial assessments interviews patient relatives friends or significant others to obtain information about the patients personal social and emotional history.
- Provides therapeutic care to patients to assist them in accomplishing treatment goals using interventions and techniques that are appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient.
- Integrates information from all relevant sources and reports findings at team meetings and care conferences.
- Maintains social service records of each patient according to hospital and departmental program statistics and turns in reports in a timely manner.
- Assists in involuntary commitment procedures when necessary recognizing and acting upon safety issues and patient rights.
- Assists in revision of policies interviewing processes and provide input to the departmental budget by identifying departmental supply and equipment needs to meet departmental goals.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Social Work Required upon hire.
Licensure and Certifications
- Licensed Social Worker: North Dakota (LSW:ND) Required upon hire.
