SUMMARY
Lead and assist employees in the shipping department on high-quality dairy products by coordinating the daily work assignments and maintaining on-the-floor presence to ensure shipping goals are met. Continually and consistently enforce GMP and housekeeping policies. The Shipping Lead will also ensure timely and accurate processing of outgoing shipments maintain inventory accuracy and lead a team of shipping employees to meet department goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of shipping employees providing guidance training and support as needed.
- Foster a collaborative work environment promoting teamwork and productivity.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and meet shipping deadlines.
- Coordinate and prioritize outgoing shipments based on customer orders production schedules and shipping deadlines.
- Conduct regular quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy completeness and compliance with customer requirements.
- Address any discrepancies or issues promptly coordinating with relevant departments to resolve problems and prevent a recurrence.
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for shipping employees.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements related to shipping.
- Maintain and enforce cleanliness and organization in the shipping area to meet food safety and OSHA requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping records including billing packaging slips and other required documentation.
- Train employees on proper handling and loading procedures to prevent product damage and ensure workplace safety.
- Fosters a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in shipping or warehouse.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and logistics procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Associate Degree or B.S. in Food or Biological Sciences or a minimum of two years experience in a QA/QC position working in a food chemical or agricultural manufacturing facility preferred.
