Description

This IT Programmer/Analyst position is responsible for support to the Colleges computer users as well as managing maintaining and upgrading web-based services and related systems. The position analyses and designs techniques to solve business problems using the systems under their control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to administrative computer users
  • Develop and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Integrate web-based services with existing systems under ITS control
  • Administer C# applications developed by ITS staff
  • Assist in maintaining administrative SQL database
  • Responsible for researching the availability and installation of upgrades including:
    • Jenzabar Internet Campus Solutions upgrades and patches
    • Microsoft SQL Server upgrades and patches
  • Work with other departments to plan how to use software efficiently.
  • Provide training to staff on the use of software as needed and as new processes/features are developed.
  • Keeps informed and aware of changes and new developments in technologies related to performance responsibilities.
  • Support from outside vendors
    • Assist Systems Programmer in coordinating support from Jenzabar on administrative software problems
    • Coordinate with Jenzabar on Jenzabar Internet Campus Solutions software
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and / or Experience -- Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication / Language -- Requires effective oral and written communication skills excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of directors.
  • Mathematical -- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning -- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Certificates Licenses Registrations -- None Required
  • Computer Literacy / General Office Equipment Object-oriented programming experience preferred. SQL Database use and navigation preferred.
