We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team on a full-time permanent basis in South Africa. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in dispensing medications providing expert drug information and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals while delivering exceptional patient care.
Accurately dispense medications in compliance with South African legal and ethical standards.
Review and interpret prescriptions to verify appropriate dosages and identify potential drug interactions.
Provide patient counseling on medication use side effects and storage requirements.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and optimize patient treatment plans.
Maintain accurate confidential patient records in line with regulatory requirements.
Monitor drug therapies for efficacy and adverse reactions adjusting as necessary.
Promote medication adherence through patient education and support.
Manage inventory including ordering and stocking medications and supplies.
Stay informed on new pharmaceuticals therapeutic guidelines and South African pharmacy regulations.
Deliver outstanding customer service addressing patient queries and concerns promptly.
Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from a recognized South African institution or equivalent qualification registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Active registration as a Pharmacist with the SAPC.
Completion of community service as required by the South African Department of Health.
1-2 years of experience as a practicing Pharmacist (preferred but not essential).
In-depth knowledge of pharmaceuticals drug therapy and South African pharmacy laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and healthcare teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurately in high-pressure environments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems commonly used in South African pharmacies.
